Right now, you *probably* have a cleanser, serum, moisturizer, and more that you apply as your everyday skincare ritual. But are you using the right amount of your products? This week in the blog, we’re going to be going through the right amount of product you should be using to make sure you’re getting all the skincare benefits.

First Up, Cleanser

With cleanser, it can be tricky trying to decide if you are applying too much or too little product. A good rule of thumb is if the dispenser has a pump, like our Pure Radiance Revitalizing Cleanser, you only need one to two pumps. If your cleanser does not have a pump dispenser, such as our Gentle Foaming Cleanser Daily Face Wash for All Skin Types, we suggest using a dime-sized amount.

Next: Toner

When it comes to toner, we recommend saturating a cotton pad with one of our toners, such as our Skin Refining Toner Balancing Tonic for Normal to Combination Skin, and gently applying it onto the face after cleansing. We suggest applying enough toner to saturate at least half of a cotton pad.

What About Serums?

Serums are similar to face wash regarding a little going a long way. We suggest using only a dime-sized amount of serum, whether it is a liquid dropper or a cream, such as our Beauty Biome Microbiome Complex Serum, before pressing the serum into the skin.

How Much Moisturizer?

The amount of moisturizer you should be using depends on your skin type. For example, if you have super dry skin, you are going to need to use more moisturizer than someone who has oily skin. A general rule of thumb is if you have dry skin, you need to use around a quarter-sized amount of a thicker moisturizer like our Maximum Moisture Complex. If you have oily skin, a dime-sized amount of a thinner moisturizer like the Nutri-Moisture Lotion Daily Moisturizer for Dry Skin will do!

What About Eye Creams?

Eye creams are small but mighty! Getting into the habit of regularly using eye cream can help reduce signs of aging, even if we only suggest using a pea-sized amount. An amount this small should be plenty to go around your eyes. We suggest applying eye creams or serums, such as Line Control Eye Gel, with your ring finger so you do not apply too much pressure to the sensitive area.

And Masks?

Face masks are an important part of skincare, and while we do not use them every day, that does not make them less important! Because there are so many different face mask consistencies, such as our Pollution Control Environmental Defense Charcoal Mask vs. Restorative Enzyme Peel Exfoliating Gel and everything in between, we suggest using a small amount, approximately the size of a nickel, to spread a thin and even layer over the skin, adding more as needed.
