Achieve a Natural Makeup Look: Aloette Cosmetics
Most women don’t wear makeup to appear "made up," but merely to accentuate their features to look more naturally beautiful. Natural makeup also works best for daytime looks – at work, running errands, having lunch out – leaving you to glam up for the evening hours.
Aloette's cosmetic and skin care experts recommend the following Aloette makeup products to help you achieve the perfect natural makeup look for summer. Best of all, all Aloette makeup is made with natural, pure ingredients and enriched with vitamins – so it’s good for your skin.
Steps for a Natural Makeup Look:
SKIN CARE: Start with your normal skin care routine, which should include a gentle cleanser to wash away impurities and a daytime moisturizer with SPF.
POWDER BASE: Even out your skin tone and texture with a base powder Translucent Veil Powder. If you have freckles, let them show through!
FOUNDATION: If your skin needs a little more coverage, use a foundation that has a natural finish like Ultra Finish SPF 15 Foundation. (A cream-to-powder formula won't look as natural.) Also, only apply the foundation to the areas that need it for a more natural look.
Key areas to cover are the cheeks, which can show some ruddiness and unevenness, as well as around the corners of the nose. You may also want to apply some foundation to the corners of the mouth, which is an area that has a tendency to be darker than the rest of the skin.
COVER UP: An under eye cover up like Aloette Conceal-Away Duo should be applied to the under-eye area to cover any darkness. Concealers like the Conceal-Away Duo that contain more than one shade work best, as you can experiment to find a shade that works best with your skin tone.
EYES: Eye color should be simple -- but natural. First, eye shadow: Choose a neutral color one shade lighter than your skin tone (Eggshell or Creme Fraiche both work great) and apply it all over the lid to help open up the eye area and diminish any shadows. Again, the key is to make it look like you are not wearing any makeup, but at the same time making you look refreshed.
Eyeliner can be worn, but applied in a very fine line on the top lid only. Apply Powder Eyeliner in a very fine line using Aloette's angled liner makeup brush and smudge the liner in between the lashes. In this step, you are "backing the lashes up," which is a technique that makes the lashes appear fuller by coloring in the spaces in between each lash. This can also be accomplished using an eye shadow closest to the color of your natural lashes. Again, use the angled liner makeup brush to apply color, and push the color into the lash line for the most natural effect.
CHEEKS: Next, your cheeks: Apply Blush Cheek Color Powder in Rosedust, as it most closely resembles the color of your cheeks when they are naturally flushed. Apply the color to the apples of the cheeks only. Use a light hand and blend well using a makeup brush like the Chisel Makeup Brush.
If you decide not to wear blush, you can opt for Blush Cheek Color Powder in the Face Bronzer shade to add a little color to the face.
LIPS: On the lips, apply Aloette Lipstick (with shea butter, aloe and vitamin E) in Blossom or the glossy Lip Sheen; both look completely natural on the lips.
